Tiaki needs a WiFi connection so it can connect to the cloud server and submit sense data. If you don’t have WiFi you can use a mobile hotspot which can provide a WiFi connection. This costs about £30 for the mobile hotspot and £5 per month access.
Yes, Tiaki works just as well with a WiFi extender as well as a standard WiFi router.
Under normal circumstances four AA size alkaline batteries will last for about one year. If you use rechargeable batteries or increase the sense frequency then the duration will be less.
Yes, you can configure the Dashboard alerts to send emails or SMS to as many individuals as required.
The temperature sensor inside Tiaki has an accuracy of +/- 0.2 degrees Celsius per year.
Yes but think of the time it takes to check freezers manually. Tiaki can quickly save your business money.
This is something that we are considering for a future upgrade.
If there is a power cut or the WiFi connection stops you will be alerted by the Dashboard as soon as it detects a missing sense submission from Tiaki. For instance, if Tiaki normally sends temperature data every 30 minutes, the Dashboard will check for this submission at 30 minute intervals. If it’s missed, you will be alerted automatically.
This is up to business procedures. However, any office PC could be used, or a smartphone nominated to receive alerts.
